Indian Block Printing & Lampshade Making Workshop – April

Join Jayne Burton for a day, first printing your own fabric, then creating a lampshade. Do the morning, the afternoon or both!
Morning session: Short intro to wood block printing. Practising using the blocks and paint with plain scrap paper. Printing wrapping paper, greeting cards, a tote bag, or a cushion cover. Option to design and print a piece of fabric to use for making a lampshade in the afternoon session.
Lunch break
Afternoon session: short intro to lampshade making. Choosing and ironing a piece of fabric – or ironing your own printed piece from the morning. Step-by-step instructions for making the lampshade.
All materials are provided, including a large selection of wood blocks, acrylic and fabric paints, papers, tote bags and cushion covers. Plain fabrics for printing and a selection of other fabrics for lampshades if you do not print your own. Option to use own fabric for lampshade if required – plain cotton fabric is the best for first timers.

£40 for half day, £75 for the whole day
